Poetry Tuesday

I have some ideas for regular features on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It may take me a little while to get into the routine, but I'll at least give it a try. Summer is a good time to try something new.

So, here's the first... an original poem on a Tuesday morning:

At Six

Skinny legs and not-quite bangs
An army of freckles march across her cheeks;
face off on her nose
Big smile, perfect tiny teeth,
though hopeful wiggles dream of
under-pillow treats

She stands on the edge,
considers the depths
Her eyes lock with mine
"Are you watching?" they ask
A nod and a giggle and she's gone
Plunging down, out of sight,
only to emerge seconds later
victorious
glorious
glistening in the summer sun
